About the V Club
Built for the
Valley.
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2019 with one primary goal: to fully fund Athletics at Mississippi Valley State University.
Our Purpose
Why the
V Club exists.
The MVSU V Club was established in 2019 as a funding resource for student-athlete scholarships, to address needs within the athletic department, and as a means to build and upgrade athletic facilities.
The V Club brings a systematic approach to keep pace with the rising costs of student-athlete tuition, ensure fairness in the season ticket and game-day parking allocation process, and close the competitive advantage gap with other SWAC and NCAA schools.
We work in full coordination with MVSU Development Staff and MVSU Athletics.
Our Top Four Initiatives
01
Fully Funding Scholarships for Athletics
- Eventually operating at 2.5 million (annually).
- Providing MVSU Athletics the ability to offer more scholarships in all sports — closing the competitive gap by adding depth and balance to each roster.
- Assisting in positioning MVSU Football to play Power Five and/or Group of Five opponents in non-conference play.
- Stimulating investment into student-athletes: recruiting, academic support, Title IX compliance, Pell Grant refunds for those that qualify, cost of attendance stipends.
- Offsetting department expenses to retain and recruit quality coaches and staff.
02
All-Inclusive Style Campus Engagement
- Encouraging every area and department on campus to have a role in athletics — saluting non-athletic university achievements during breaks at athletic events.
- Fostering relationships with each department: broadcasting, art, criminal justice, math, accounting and marketing students can all build real experience through athletics.
03
Community and Corporate Partnership Development
- Creating workforce development, employee retention and continuing education opportunities with businesses within thirty miles of campus.
- Providing print, digital and naming-rights marketing opportunities for local and national brands.
- Hosting annual high school, charity, entertainment and community events on campus.
04
Maximize Alumni Relationships and Resources
- Reconnecting Valley alumni with the programs and student-athletes that carry MVSU's name forward.
